Default Factions: "Favor shift to the losing side"

If favor always shifts to the losing side, how is this war going to end?

If its a never ending war, why even fight it? What do you gain from it? Alliance battles doesn't give you any loots.
It is VERY unlikely to get all the good players on one side and actually take over Cantha.

I don't see why we fight a war if there's no personal gain from it. At least guild battles gives you fame and possibly fortune, and HoH gives you fame by announcing your name to everybody in game.

It's going to end when the Luxon control all of Cantha!

indeed...

anyway, those Factionsbattles are enjoyable enough just to fight it, i dont need no reward

there is a reward though, you can "own" towns and have a huge discount on the traders there when the line has shifted over that town...

and who knows what they might add for pvp ?

There is another reward. Faction points. I raked in quite a nice sum of Factions points from the few Alliance battles I did. Seeing as many of the 15k sets require Jadeite or Amber, and you can turn in your faction for those, then you can use Alliance battles to get yourself the crafting materials for your armor.

I'm sure there are other uses, but thats the only one I can think of right now that hasn't been said.

Moved this to Factions, since you aren't suggesting something, which is what Sardelac is for.

....Why would the war end? The whole concept of the game is a never-ending war. What you get from those alliance battles is faction from either side of the alliances. The faction is a reward base that can be used to be refunded for items or used to gain access to higher level areas, (which by the way drop better "loot"). It's actually not that unlikely that for a short period of time you could organize a front for one faction to completely dominate cantha. But I'm sure they have certain measure in order to make it difficult, and turn it around if it ever really happened. If there isn't, some people would eventually get bored with their alliance then switch over to gain access to new stuff, and thusly help their new faction retake cantha.

You've gotta understand two things:
>There is personal gain from fighting the war.
>The war isn't supposed to end

Well, gosh forbid anyone play the game for fun. I quite enjoyed the PvP in Factions. Never got around to the 12v12 stuff, but the Jade Quarry and Fort Somethingorother missions were great.

Oh that will make things really fun for the scalpers...buying things like black dye for 6k and selling it for 8k to people of the opposing faction.

-__-

By the way, is there any real reason why so many people will be choosing Luxon over Kurz?

The war will never end coz the concept of Factions is the Kurzick vs Luxon war. - PvP side of the game.

Now, "story side" of the game, the Kurzick & Luxons allied together with the Canthans to fight Shiro. At least during FPE that's how far we've known. After they kill shiro, we don't know if they'll be back to their petty wars or not.

If the war between them ends "technical side", then Factions will be very useless since it revolves around the Faction vs Faction system. They just added a "background story" to the FvF system.

Fame, rewards are actually not important to most. Even those who do HoH and GvG, fame and rewards are actually nothing. Most players are after the 'fun' factor. If you're having fun, play. Even if the reward is USD1 million, if there's no more fun in it, why play? Just look how many tried selling their products by producing tournaments with a grand prize of USD1m, still a large chunk of the market ignored them. It's the 'fun' factor that keeps player loyal to a game.

O.o I think there are probably plenty of Kurzicks out there too. Luxons just speak up more. Some might say this is because we have large mouths, but I say it's because we have large...battle spirits. Yes. Indeed our battle spirits are large.

yeah to make up for the lack of size in other areas... KURZ FTW. Sorry I couldn't help myself. Also your alliance will be noted if it wins when it controls the town.

Where did you hear that?

All I hear since that there are more Kurzicks than Luxon.

Juggernauts > Turtles.
Turtles are for eating. Good food.

Kurzick FTW!

There might be premium areas that need town control in order to access. UW/FoW type regions.

I think that when you control a certain amount of cantha you should get a cookie! And when you double click it in your inventory your charecter starts to get fatter and fatter

I second that. I can't stand low light areas because you cannot see where you are going and it kills my eyes .
